Hello everyone!
After many grey and wet days over the winter, surely Spring is on the horizon … and with future warm and sunny days, we’ll soon be able to shed those hats, gloves, scarfs and coats. In truth, this very same behaviour mirrors our own spiritual quests, because we can also disgard many other things in our lives, just like an item of clothing to the floor. Comprehending that ‘detachment’ is part of our armoury and defence against misplaced attitudes, thoughts and any discontent too upon this sojourn and physical embodiement.
So, this can be viewed as a double edged sword, as we must each define whether an attachment is true and worthwhile (for our heart and Soul), or simply something which we assume fufills a ‘desire’. One things for sure though … no matter what we give up, cut loose, or even destroy through the years … only God’s love (running through our hearts), is eternal.
Perhaps this short extract will make you think of your own attachments, and whether they still have an importance and purpose on this journey called ‘life’. Peace to all!
“Separation from my love is impossible, and with this knowledge, you must distinguish the body and Soul are the only separate entities. How else can one’s dreams take you to amazing and beautiful places, and also experience the wonderful joy in your heart? Indeed, physically you rest during sleep, but your Divinity continues to strive, learn, and share the true and ‘real’ you.
Please understand, the so-called ‘overcoat’ or body, is still vital to your earthly work, rest, and play. Eventually it will be shed like a second skin, but is not discarded until fully worn out, or after your karmic imbalance is fulfilled … whether that’s one minute, one hour, one week, one month or one year, or perhaps, even more than three scores and ten pass by.
Throughout time, mankind seeks and strives to accumulate and attach themselves to each other, and earthly impermanent traits and desires. During one’s labor and education, one will wish to acquire money, and increase one’s wealth by buying property, ‘vehicles’, or other assets, and in marriage too, children may come along, and so the cycle of new attachments continues for many years. Until one day, each one of you starts to detach yourselves (knowingly or unknowingly), through the later years of your life.
This occurs because retirement brings loss of work and income. Old age sees grandparents and parents drift into the permanence of light once more. Your kin may leave home, while friends or family move or fade away, and all the while connections appear to weaken or disappear, which leaves you apparently isolated.
However, you are never alone … because I am captivated from, though, and within your heart … and you just need to remember this truth!” Amen.
PS. Detach fear and anxiety … because you are already ‘free’!
