From today, millions of people around the world will be celebrating the Chinese New Year, but how much do we know about it?
Well, it’s not like the January first …. the date changes every year.
It will use the most fireworks on the Earth and the celebrations last 15 days until the ‘Lantern’ Festival. In fact, around 1/6th of the world’s population celebrates this with the longest public holiday!
In addition, the Chinese calendar assigns different animals from the zodiac to each lunar year in a cycle of 12 years, and this year is the year of the DOG – the 11th sign of the zodiac.
Now then … those born in a ‘dog year’ may say its quite fortuitous … while others believe it heralds an unlucky 12 months ahead. Interestingly, one could simply reverse the letters – DOG to GOD and the comparison becomes clear.
Today’s post (below) gives us a quick spiritual insight into so-called ‘luck’.
