Good morning everyone.
Well, the Rio Olympics are almost drawing to a close, but we’ve been so fortunate to bear witness to some amazing performances from across the sporting world. In fact, it’s been a privilege to see so many thrills and spills throughout numerous events, with both single or team competitors providing us all with some incredible memories. Of course, even though some people don’t like ‘sport’ at all, one can still admire observing another’s grit and determination to ‘succeed’.
So, who really values or determines success? And, are there any real winners or so-called losers? Would those who come second, third or even last give up on their quest or dream? Well, in today’s post, the In-Dweller of our Heart’s provides us with a brief snapshot of gaining a real victory … without a medallion in sight.

“Consider an athlete, who trains for many years in order to become an Olympic champion. Now imagine they make this dream come true, as their tears instantaneously fall within a release of overwhelming joy … a culmination of sheer perseverance, ambition and belief. In a stark contrast, someone who finishes in second place may also cry, but through a state of deep sadness and despondency, states “I didn’t do my best”. Indeed, they feel they’ve underachieved or let down those who supported, encouraged, and motivated them in their own pursuit and goal.
It maybe difficult for some to comprehend those feelings of victory and so-called ‘defeat’, however, as I am with (and within you all), for whom are these emotional waters shed? Well, in every experience lessons are learnt, and in the case in question, it is not only for themselves but for those who view such scenarios too. In fact, not only is there the opportunity to inspire a younger generation, they can also motivate, lead and provide others with a greater determination to succeed in many areas of both sport and life.
In truth, those who receive gold and silver and bronze medals aren’t the only winners, while every other participant is no ‘also-ran’ or ‘loser’. One must understand, because I do not judge any such sporting event and/or any result as being more valuable than another, it should become easier to appreciate you are all travelling or racing along in life, upon whatever course and direction, or one’s profession, work and role you have been given or chosen.
Therefore, the pathway a Soul takes is not about a podium finish, because the real victory lies in the effort which takes place freely and wantonly and willingly in all shapes and forms. Please remember too, if one should be fortunate to receive accolades, it becomes vital the ego does not come to the fore, raising its ugly head. Likewise, by being gracious (no matter where one is placed), one’s dignity can be maintained … and balance gained. Amen”.
PS. No one or no’thing’ is holding you back … change your mindset, and gain your own personal victory and goal.
